Brock Osweiler

Super Bowl 50 Champion

Born in Coeur d’Alene, ID on November 22, 1990, Brock Osweiler was raised by his parents, Kathy and John Osweiler, in Kalispell, MT. Osweiler attended Flathead High School.

In 2006, after his freshman year of high school, he committed to Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA to play basketball, but later decided to focus on playing college football. As a senior, he was the 2008–2009 Gatorade Player of the Year in football for Montana after he completed 189 of 303 passes for 2,703 yards and 29 touchdowns; he also rushed for 700 yards on 162 carries with 13 touchdowns.

As a true freshman at Arizona State University in 2009, Osweiler played in six games with one start. He became the first true freshman to start a game for the Sun Devils since Jake Plummer in 1993. After his junior season, his only season as the full-time starter, Brock broke the school record for completion percentage and became the only player in school history to throw for more than 4,000 yards in a season.

Brock declared for the NFL draft after his junior campaign at Arizona State and was selected 57th overall in the second round by the Denver Broncos. He backed up Peyton Manning for his first 3.5 seasons in the NFL. In 2015, his fourth season, he made his first career start on his 25th birthday, completing 20 out of 27 passes for 250 yards with two touchdowns and a 127.1 passer rating in a 17–15 win over the Bears, becoming the first player to start and win his first career game on his birthday. He was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Bears. Osweiler was presented the game ball after the game by head coach Gary Kubiak. The next day, it was announced that Osweiler would start the following week against the defending Super Bowl Champions, New England Patriots and Tom Brady. On November 29, 2015, Osweiler led the Broncos to a win over the then-undefeated Patriots in overtime, 30–24. He completed 23 of 42 passes for 270 yards, a touchdown. He was named NBC’s Sunday Night player of the game.

The Denver Broncos went on to win Super Bowl 50 during the 2015-2016 season. After the Super Bowl Brock signed with the Houston Texans during free agency. During the 2016 season Brock led the Texans to an AFC South division championship as well as a first-round playoff victory over the Oakland Raiders. Brock became the first quarterback in Texans franchise history to sweep the Colts during the regular season and run and throw for a touchdown in a playoff victory.

Brock went on to play the 2017 season back in Denver for the Broncos and finished his career playing in South Florida for the Miami Dolphins in 2018. He finished his 7-year NFL career making 30 starting appearances.

Brock currently lives in Scottsdale, AZ with his wife Erin and two daughters Blake and Quinn. Brock currently work for ESPN as an in-booth College Football Analyst during the fall. Brock and his family are active supporters of Flathead High School as well as other youth initiatives throughout the Flathead Valley.
