Jim Kalafat-Star, Montana State University

Born in Great Falls, MT, in 1962, Jim Kalafat starred at Great Falls CMR High School under legendary coach Jack Johnson. In 1979 and 1980, he was an All-State running back for the Rustlers, and in 2023, he was selected to the CMR Legends Hall of Fame.  He was recruited to play running back at Montana State but was moved to linebacker in 1982. Kalafat held the Bobcats’ top two single-season records for tackles and also has MSU’s single-game record of 30 tackles (vs. Nevada in 1983). He was picked up by the Kansas City Chiefs in 1984 but was released later the same year. Jim also played for the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL and played one game with the Los Angeles Rams in 1987 before a career-ending injury.
