A huge THANK YOU to all of the sponsors, participants, staff, vendors and facilities providers that help make every year’s Montana Football Hall of Fame Banquet and Induction Ceremony such a tremendous success! This is the biggest football reunion in the state of Montana!

For the first time we are pleased to welcome as special guests the National Football Foundation.

The game of football is based on discipline, hard work and doing the right things and that’s the way guys from Montana grow up. They work hard at whatever they do. It means a lot to them. If they put their minds to something, they are going to achieve the goals they want to achieve. That is a big, big part of why guys go from small-town Montana to the NFL - attitude and work ethic.
— Tim Hauck - Defensive Safety, Coach in the NFL

This hall of fame is something that should have been in place for years. It’s to honor all of the great accomplishments of past players, coaches and contributors that have helped support the game we all love from across the state.
— Rick Halmes, Montana Football Hall of Fame Chair
You need to keep this event rolling. There are more Montana NFL football players in this room than have ever been in one room in Montana. And it’s only going to get bigger!”
Marty Mornhinweg (to Rick Halmes at the 2019 banquet)

We have discovered over 200 past Montana student athletes that have gone on to the elite level of the NFL/CFL since 1926. The first player we found was from Butte, Jack McAuliffe, who played with the Green Bay Packers in 1926. Butte and Anaconda produced many of the first NFL players from our state, including Bill and Milan Lazetich. Bill’s son Pete, from Billings Senior, was inducted into the Montana Football Hall of Fame in 2016 along with his father and uncle Milan who both played for the Cleveland Rams in the 40’s. We believe there are currently 14 players in the NFL/CFL from Montana high schools and colleges; that’s not counting broadcasters, trainers and coaches.

2023 will mark our 7th year for the Hall of Fame and there are many more accolades to bestow on our Montana athletes, coaches and support people who have contributed in a big way to the advancement of the Montana work ethic in student athletes.
