Joe Cummings, University of Wyoming

Joe Cummings was born in Missoula, MT, but grew up in Stevensville and graduated from Stevensville High School in 1992. Cummings was named the Gatorade Football Player of the Year following his senior season. He went on to ink with the University of Wyoming in college, where he was a three-year starter for the Cowboys. As a senior, he recorded eight sacks and 10 tackles for loss and was named first-team All-Western Athletic Conference. He was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles in 1996 but was cut during training camp. He later signed with San Diego, where he played in three games for the Chargers. Cummings also spent time with the Green Bay Packers (1997), the Buffalo Bills (1998 and 1999), the Barcelona Dragons, and in 2001 with the Orlando Rage of the XFL. Cummings’ father, the late Ed Cummings (NY Jets and Denver Broncos), was inducted into the Montana Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2026, making Ed and Joe Cummings the second father and son to be inducted, and join Anaconda's Bill Lazetich and son Pete Lazetich.
