Mickey Sutton, University of Montana

Mickey Sutton was born in Greenville, Mississippi, in 1960 and played his high school ball at Union City, California-Logan. After excelling at Chabot Junior College, Sutton found a home at the University of Montana, under coach Larry Donovan, playing defensive back and returning punts. In 1981, Sutton returned 22 punts for 200 yards, an average of 9.1 yards per return, which was tops in the Big Sky Conference. In 1983, Sutton signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL. He also played in the United States Football League in 1984 with the Pittsburgh Maulers and in 1985 with the Birmingham Stallions. Mickey went on to spend five seasons in the NFL with the Los Angeles Rams (1986-1988; 1990) and the Green Bay Packers (1989). Mickey played 65 games in the NFL, starting 7. He had four fumble recoveries and five interceptions during that time.
