Ron Heller

Ron Heller, Penn State University

Born in East Meadow, New York, Heller played at Penn State from 1980-84 and won a national title in 1982. He was selected in the fourth round of the NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and played 12 seasons in the NFL with Tampa Bay, Philadelphia, and Miami. After four seasons with Tampa Bay, he was traded to Philadelphia, where he played in 75 regular-season games at both right and left tackle. Heller signed with the Miami Dolphins in 1993 and played three seasons before a knee injury forced his retirement. He gained his first NFL coaching experience in 2004 with the Amsterdam Admirals of NFL Europe. He later became the offensive coordinator in 2007. Heller reunited with Bart Andrus for one season with the Toronto Argonauts and later had coaching stops in Jacksonville and with the New York Jets. He also served as a color analyst for Montana State football for two seasons with Max Media and has split time between Florida and Montana for the past 30 years.
