Roundup to Bozeman to AZ State to the Redskins

SHANE WILLIAM COLLINS (born April 11, 1969 in Roundup, MT) is a former defensive end in the National Football League for the Washington Redskins. After graduating from Bozeman High School, he played college football at Arizona State University. While at ASU he was the NCAA shot put national champion in 1990. ASU has also stated that Collins was the greatest athlete to wear #83 while playing football at ASU.  Shane was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the second round of the 1992 NFL draft and played 3 seasons from 1992 through 1994.

Collins’ son Grant just finished a great career as middle linebacker, overcoming serious shoulder injuries, to help the Montana State University Bobcats reach the FCS playoffs. Collins daughter Averie stars for the Stanford University women’s soccer program.

Shane and his wife, Lisa, own Shane Collins Construction in Bozeman, MT.  For over 18 years they have built high level homes, designing, building and using green technology where possible.
